Juri Bettollini, the mayor of Chiusi (Italy), spoke to the newspaper “Il Tempo” about the HTC plant that ACEA Ambiente decided to build in Chiusi using Ingelia technology. The mayor described the plant as “a truly clean and ecological plant, one of those important for the circular economy”.
The mayor of Chiusi told the director of «Il Tempo» that «The plant in Chiusi will be built by Acea Ambiente as the first HTC plant in Italy. It recycles municipal sewage sludge and the organic fraction of municipal solid waste, transforming them into bio-lignite, an ecological bio-coal. The plant will bring double environmental benefits , on the one hand it creates a bioproduct that can replace fossil coal and on the other hand it recycles organic waste, using a new technology that produces no emissions or pollutants. «…. «All politicians say that the future is the circular economy and this cannot be done without building new plants».
