On 13 February 2020, the Department for International Trade (DIT) at the UK Embassy in Madrid organised an information seminar on the main changes in the UK's waste policies and new opportunities in the sector.
The strategy aims to double resource productivity and eliminate all avoidable waste, including plastics, by 2050, moving towards a circular economy. The UK is making firm commitments for the coming years, with a clear long-term policy direction in line with the Environment Plan.
Specialists from the British Government participated in the seminar and new business opportunities in the sector were identified. The DIT explained to the attendees how to help companies develop their business in the United Kingdom.
Ingelia was invited to participate as a success story of Spanish investors in the United Kingdom and it was revealed how DIT has supported its expansion.
Networking opportunities with specialists and other participants were a very interesting part of the event.
Speakers:
Hugh Elliott, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Spain, opened the event
Deborah Sacks, Waste and Resource Specialist, DIT
Francesca Ridout, Investment Advisor, DIT
Marisa Hernandez, CEO of Ingelia.
